Description: This publication presents a new digital bedrock geologic map of the Upper Cretaceous to Paleogene sedimentary rocks of the Denver Basin. Outcrop traces on the bedrock geologic map represent intersections of structure maps with a ten-meter resolution digital terrain model of bedrock topography. The terrain model of bedrock topography removes thick deposits of Quaternary alluvium in order to provide accurate subcrop patterns where younger deposits conceal bedrock. In addition to the geologic map, this publication includes five structure maps made on selected stratigraphic horizons, and four isopach maps covering selected stratigraphic intervals. Three cross-sections illustrating basin geometry and depositional patterns complement the maps. In addition, three paleogeographic maps portray regional depositional patterns at selected time intervals. See the accompanying report for full information. The feature classes listed below are included in the geodatabases. div1_alluvial_extent_20061130: Polygon of the Division 1 Alluvium extent (origin SPDSS, CWCB 2005) QalClipMask: Polygon showing the area without alluvium correction in the 10m DEM (origin this study) Qn_Base_contours: Base contours (elevation above sealevel (feet)) of Nussbaum Alluvium (Qn) (Barkmann and Dechesne, 2008) Qn_BaseElev: Well information showing the depth of the Nussbaum Alluvium (elevation above sealevel, feet) (Barkmann and Dechesne, 2008) Qn_depthcontours: Depth contours of Nussbaum Alluvium (Qn) - feet (Barkmann and Dechesne, 2008) Qn_Outline: Outline of the Nussbaum Alluvium (Qn) (Barkmann and Dechesne, 2008) db_hillshade: Hillshaded relief map of the Denver Basin Study area (resolution 72m) (created for this study from USGS 30m DEM data) db_Kn_hs: Hillshaded relief map of the western margin of the study area, clipped to the Precambrian Rocks (created for this study from USGS 30m DEM data) dbdem_qa_qn: Modified 10m (USGS) DEM: Qn and Qal were subtracted to be able to calculate subcrop traces (this study) Qn_thickness: Nussbaum Alluvium (Qn) thickness. (Barkmann and Dechesne, 2008) qals1106saturatedthickn_clipped: Qal thickness (SPDSS), clipped with QalClipMask. (modified from original SPDSS, CWCB 2005)
